Hope That Overflows

“I have hope that overflows, like a flood rushing through my soul. I have peace now I know; You are my hope that overflows.”
I was in pure amazement as the Watoto Children’s Choir sang this song (complete with choreography). This wasn’t just a performance for them, but a broadcasting of their testimonies, a billboard display of encouragement to someone feeling hopeless. These children worshipped with so much energy and life. They sang several songs from their latest album “Oh What Love”. A few of the children also shared their stories showing how Christ brought them from utter despair to joyous celebration. The children were much a blessing and inspiration.
Watoto Children’s Choirs have traveled internationally since 1994 as advocates for the estimated 50 million children in Africa, orphaned as a result of HIV/AIDS, war, poverty and disease. Each of the children in the choir has suffered the loss of their parents either through war or disease. However, when you look at these children you don't see tragedy but rather triumph. These children have confidence and boldness and know they are not forgotten by God. Their stories and the creative way they share their testimonies, is a reminder that God can and does make the broken beautiful. Oh what a delight to experience this dynamic worship by these amazing children. They reminded me that God is a redeeming loving father.
